Because this blog now has two purposes (What We’ve Been Up To in addition to What I’ve Been Thinking), I feel I should share a quick recap of recent places we’ve been and stuff we’ve done to appease family and friends back home. Please imagine some catchy, indie-rock/folk song playing in the background. Thank you.
We also drove over one of these…

I got sick and grumpy in the back of the car (sorry, everybody!) but the rest of that weekend was really fun.
One night when Ryan and I took a walk around the block, our kids did this…

because they’re weird.
One day, when I was pulling out of the driveway, I looked in the rearview and saw four of these wandering through the backyard…

(Look closely, it’s a deer!)
One morning, I found Max perched in the window like this…

It was hard to watch, because we sat directly in front of this…

The best part was the signature slushy drink that makes your tongue look like this…

Friday evening we went here…

And loved it. (And paid $13 in tolls on the way back. Thanks for the warm welcome, east coast!)
OK, we’re all caught up now, but that song’s gonna be in my head all day now.

that thing with the cars? totally looks like something I would do. because i’m crazy. and i love playing with cars. especially disney cars. in fact, i can’t hardly set foot in a store without buying more disney cars. you know, for MASON.
Looooved the music! Thanks for the pictures! You look happy! You all look happy! I wish you nothing but the best of times there. And I can’t wait to get a trip planned to come visit.
Looks like things are going so well. You all look so happy! Thanks for sharing.
Looks like you are really getting around back there. And the fam looks happy!
wow- I may need to steal this trick. If the entire financial world hadn’t fallen on my back last week I might have found the time to blog but . . . argh.
And, uh, thanks for the uber close up. At least I look like I’m having fun.
i can’t think of anything as nearly as exciting in utah! looks like fun.
you’ve been busy! it’s always fun to explore new places.
I lurve that sweater!
Found your site blog-surfing and I love it! I especially appreciate hearing about other Mormon-folk taking the plunge to leave Utah and relocate. My husband & I did and we’ve been living in Malaysia for a year now and (mostly) loving it. Still adjusting after a year. I look forward to hearing about how your life changes and how you make it work. Good luck!
Lots and lots to do! thanks for sharing all that fun stuff with us
I’m glad you’re figuring out all of the sweet places we can go when we visit.
I wondered why people were letting their horses wander around your back yard. I’m glad you clarified.
Wow, you’ve been busy doing fun things! Thanks for the update and the laughs I always enjoy while I’m peeking in on you!
I LOVE the East Coast. I’m so jealous! I went to Gettsyburg this summer and found it WAY more interesting and awesome than I had anticipated. I’m glad you traveled safely!
Looks like life is good! I’m so jealous of your close proximity to historical sites. How would you feel about a house guest for maybe 6 months? I clean.
