The fabulous Kami over at The Biggie Blog invited us all to a movie clip party.
Here’s what I’m bringing:
I love this scene. It is the opening scene of the movie and I still remember when Ryan and I watched it for the first time, after only two minutes in, I declared that I loved this movie more than any other. And I do.
And this scene? I found out while watching the Bonus Materials that this is actual footage from Heathrow Airport. Those are not actors; those are real people who love each other.
Good reminder today—love wins.
Quick note: I do love the movie, but I can’t recommend it unless you find an edited version. (Those Brits and their naughty humor! What are we going to do with them?)
I can’t wait to see what you’re bringing to Kami’s Cip Party!
Great movie. I need to whip out my clip.
I have a true love/hate relationship with this movie. Maybe I need to watch it again, I do love this opening scene though.
Nice clip, although the movie only worked for me in fits and starts. I’d also recommend the scene where Emma Thompson finds out what her husband’s given her as a birthday present.
one of my absolute favorites!
i remember being totally touched by this part of the movie–and yes, i saw the naughty un-edited version. i was forced to. at gunpoint.
such a great flick! didn’t know it was real footage. good stuff
That is my favorite part of the movie. They could have ended it right there.
Such a great clip on a special day! I too Love that movie. So touching that scene is. Thanks for comin’ to the party! You’re the best!
Sniff, Sniff.
Dab corner of left eye, dab corner of right eye! Breathe in. Breathe out. Therapy for the day!! Thanks Tiff, I needed to see that, if only to remind me there are other people in the world with real problems, and surley, the straps on the Homecoming dress shouldn’t be such a problem!!! Although, I start thinking it would be great to wrap arms around you and yours, and Parker!
I guess I will repeat. Dab corner of left eye. Dab corner of…..
Love and miss you!
Heidi
I’ll go ahead and recommend the unedited version. This is my favorite movie of all time. I sobbed the first time I watched it.
I LOVE that movie. But I confess, thought I’ve seen the movie at least a dozen times, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the very beginning. I always come into it on TV right after it starts I guess. Such a happy, but also real, movie.
I wanted to do this, but no time, no time at all. At least everyone else did it, so I could partake!
