I’ve got a couple thick days of marathon work ahead to try and wrap things up before Thanksgiving. (I find that it’s really hard to work when I am in my post-Thanksgiving turkey-induced coma.) Having trouble deciding what to blog about today, I was happy to learn that Jenny had tagged me to share seven random things about myself. Easy enough, except for the fact that I have already written every. single. thing. about. myself. twice. So, I guess I’m gonna have to dig deep, people.
From the Depths of My Soul: Seven Things You Didn’t Already Know About Me
1. Until this morning when I looked it up in Wikipedia and an online dictionary, I did not know the correct pronunciation or definition of the word “meme.” I’m all square now.
2. I got a 28 on the ACT. Then I took it again and got a 25, which probably implies that my intelligence peaked when I was a junior in high school.
3. I have a recurring dream where I am (sometimes) walking and/or (sometimes) driving up a very steep road in a suburban area of east Salt Lake. I start getting freaked out about the incline, and though the dream is never resolved, I get very freaked out about tumbling down the road. Every time I’m driving down a very steep road in real life, the anxiety of the dream immediately returns. I don’t think I’ve ever remembered to tell Ryan about this dream. Honey—what does this mean???
4. I have never had a drop of alcohol, a puff of a cigarette, or any kind of illegal drug. I don’t consider this a particularly fascinating revelation, but I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it before.
5. I truly believe that the invention of the Craisin will go down in history as one of the most important things ever to happen to salads.
6. Sometimes—out of the blue—I get all welled up with tears when I think about what Ryan means to me. Like right now.
7. Just the other day, I wondered how my life would be different if I’d had two girls instead of two boys.
8. Bonus item! I think I frustrate a lot of people. I don’t mean to, but I know I do.
Don’t consider yourself cursed or anything if you choose not to participate, but I’d love to hear seven things about you too!
You really did dig deep, and although I do not know everything about you I enjoyed your list of 8. I really dislike those recurring dreams. I like to think we all have them, right? I know I do. I will come up with my list of seven. Thanks for the idea. I have to agree with #8 I am the same way.
I’m totally the same way about #6. Not about Ryan– though I’m sure he’s swell– but about John.
1. I like the Hannah Montana songs my kids down loaded on my ipod.
2. I spend way too much on Christmas.
3. I miss my mom and dad more and more each year.
4. I love the new mint hersheys kisses.
5. I think my husband is a much better person than I am and I don’t deserve him.
6. I’m scared to die.
7. I don’t read the website everyday.
Number 7…..come on over. It’s complete drama and moodiness here and they aren’t even teenagers yet.
By the way….I’ve been meaning to ask this but if the Writers Guild of America (or whatever they’re called) is on strike, is your writing group on strike? Maybe now’s your chance to move up in the ranks.
Great list!
and I’m with you, I know there are things I don’t write about but if I really had to dream up 7 things I haven’t already confessed to on my blog . . . I might be stumped. Maybe I’ll try.
1. I have an amazing gift of being able to write so that you have to hold up my message in a mirror to read it. Wow. That will really come in handy someday.
2. I just made my orange slushy punch for Thanksgiving, and I don’t think it will be frozen in time.
3. I thought my birthday last year sucked.
4. I think I need to up my anti-depressant, and/or come talk to Ryan or one of his cohorts.
5. I gave my hubby two hickeys a few days ago, and he was teased mercilessly at work. I guess they were pretty, um, noticeable. (I didn’t see him again until they were pretty much gone.)
6. I envy my younger sister’s incredible sense of style!
7. I need to give my son a haircut.
Your list was more fun. Good luck with all of your work!
Loved your list. I had to look up “meme” because I didn’t know either – probably due to my complete advoidance of everything “biology” in High School and college. An amazing feat, I know.
Thanks for sharing!
1.I need to scold my mirror. Every day, it “tells” me I’m a perfect size 6, and that I look like I’m in my twenties. Then I see a picture, and the truth hits!
2. I’m grateful for my kids, and their easy going attitude. It’s amazing how just little things make them happy. (Sonic slushes during Happy Hour are the best!)
3. The “B” key on my computer sticks! What a pain!
4. Sometimes I think I am nicer to, and spend more time with our puppy then my kids.(She is pretty loveable, and never talks back!)
5. I totally CANNOT carry a tune. This is a trait my son Parker has inheirted, although we all laugh, because he hasn’t realized it just quite yet.
6. I think I honestly try to be a sincere person.
7. My husband is totally my rock. He’s the one who always seems to look at the “Big Picture,” and never dwells on the trivia of the moment.
thanks for posting even though you had to really dig deep!
i’ve never had a puff of a cigarette (or anything else for that matter). whoohoo!
