Thank you, George Foreman, wherever you are.

June 29th, 2006

Have you used your George Foreman de-greasing, fat-burning, celebrity-endorsed grill to make grilled cheese sandwiches yet?

If yes: They are so good, aren’t they?  Golden brown, with those cute little stripes, and just the right amount of crispiness, the sandwich of homemade sandwiches!  Today I’m thinking of trying a grilled cheese with Laughing Cow light swiss and apple slices inside.  Doesn’t that sound good?  Oh my gosh, I can’t wait until noon!  Do you want to come over and have one?  You could bring your grill and we could make them together!

If no: You are soooo missing out.

I can’t remember who told me to make grilled cheese sandwiches on my George Foreman grill, but whoever you are: May all your burdens be light and may all your household cleaners be Mrs. Meyers!

TWICE for dinner last week I had this grilled cheese variation made on my snack master grilled cheese maker: smoked gouda, multi-grain bread, juicy fresh red tomato slices and one fried egg. I love your apple slices idea because sharp cheddar and sour apple are one of my favorite combos!
Great, now I am going to have to walk the 4 blocks in the sweltering steam bath that is NYC to get a sandwich with apple slices at Mangia. Can I just come over to your place for lunch instead?

Could it have been me that introduced you to G.F.G.C.S.’s?? I’m pretty sure I’ve raved about them and fed them to your children numerous times. I first got onto the idea from the food network when they featured a restaurant whose specialty is grilled cheese sandwiches in an infinite variety of combos. It opened a whole new world of food favorites to me. Mmmmm, Good!
